How This Came About...

Seven months ago I quit the safety net provided by my full time job to pursue a passion that I shared with my girlfriend, photography. We named our company BearLands Photography and our focus would be on headshots and events. To our surprise we were getting booked a lot more than we thought we would.

​Some being really supportive friends and family but for the most part complete strangers that would become good friends by the end of our shoot. While this seemed like a dream come true, I was completely dissatisfied creatively.

Headshots in the corporate world are all the same, and I was not passionate about the majority of the events that I got to shoot. Don't get me wrong, I am still 100% grateful for these jobs as they allow to do what I love and pay the bills BUT I needed to do something that fed and fueled my creativity.

Not too long ago, some one that I look up to who is a successful creative said something along the lines of, "Create what you love and share that with the world. Put out the type of work that you really want to be known for and the rest will fall in to place." There couldn't have been a better time for me to hear this. 

Within an hour of hearing those words I created this website, a place where I could share the photos that I truly love but don't really fit the BearLands brand, and share another passion of mine, Art and Illustration.  While I do have plans to sell prints of my work in the near future, my main goal with this venture is focused solely on passion. With that being said, I hope you guys enjoy the content that I share on the site as much as I do!
